In The News - Commentary by Kim

My precious Lord and Savior is coming soon and the countdown continues. As I watch the news, it only makes me more and more excited about the imminent return of Jesus Christ. Biblical prophecy, written thousands of years ago, is unfolding right before our eyes and it is an exciting time to be alive. Maranatha!!!!

More Strides Toward "Peace and Safety"

1Th 5:3
While they are saying, "Peace and safety!" then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape
.

Possibly, if I were not one closely watching trends toward the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy, I would find nothing alarming about the agreement of the three North American leaders joining in hopes of securing our borders and strengthing trade. However, with the knowledge of what our future holds, my mind is conditioned to see the end and look backwards at how we could have possibly made it to that point.

What do we know from scripture? We know that there is a time period coming when a great leader will arise who will gain control over most of the world.

Rev. 13:7 ......And he was given authority to rule over every tribe and people and language and nation.

For this to happen, the world would have to be under one government, a common ruling body. It seems pretty unbelievable to think that this could happen to our world given the amount of various nations and people groups. We pride ourselves in America on being our own independent, sovereign, and free country held together by a strong constitution. If we are going to fall under the control of this great world leader, I contend that it will happen in one of two ways. There will either be a huge catastrophic event that happens to make Americans hand over or lose control over our governance, or little by little steps will be taken to make it easier for someone to take authority. I used to think there would have to be some huge event, however recent trends have caused me to reconsider.

Already we have nations joining together to work towards a common goal. In Europe there are already 25 countries making up the European Union. Last year George W. Bush met with Mexican President Vicente Fox and Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin. The purpose of their meeting was to, "...develop new avenues of cooperation that will make our open societies safer and more secure, our businesses more competitive, and our economies more resilient." To achieve this goal, the North American countries plan to unite in order to build a stronger economy. It seems as though they are taking their cue from the European countries. Not only are there plans to build a North American Community with similar goals of those of the EU, but under the advice of Robert Pastor, who was the Vice Chair of the council on Foreign Relations Task Force on the Future of North America, consideration may be given to replace the U.S. and Canadian dollars and Mexican peso with a currency called the Amero to compete with Europe's Euro. One report by Jerome Corsi of RaidersNewsUpdate, described the North American Union as, "...envisioned to create a super-regional political authority that could override the sovereignty of the United States on immigration policy and trade issues." Of course this is all a far cry from giving up our sovereingty as a nation, but I suggest that it is one in perhaps many small steps in that direction. Today our focus may be on border control and economic issues, however after perceived successes in these areas, other common goals may come into play later. With the majority of Europe uniting into one body, and three economic powers in North America uniting, half the battle of uniting the world under the control of one has been taken care of. In other words, it's much easier to gain control of one European body and one North American body than attempting to conquer the individual member states of each.

The three leaders have termed the union as the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America. They have stated in their joint statement that they are in cooperation to enhance the security of the people; to make our societies safer and more secure; to maintain high standards of health and safety; and to make sure our region is a more secure home for our people and future generations.

Safety, Security! Safety, Security! The words that should evoke feelings of comfort only sound the alarms for prophecy watchers. We know that in the last days the buzz words will be peace and safety. We know that the coming world leader, who most refer to as the Anti-Christ, will use the guise of peace to gain control. In Daniel 8: 25, it is said of this ruler that "...by peace he shall destroy many." Paul says in his letter to the Thessalonians concerning the end times that during a time when people are concerned about peace and safety, sudden destruction will come. When we hear of stories of movements to make the world safer and more peaceful, we know that it is moving closer and closer to the end. Jesus told us to recognize the signs of the times.

Matthew 24:32-33 "Now learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its buds become tender and its leaves begin to sprout, you know without being told that summer is near. Just so, when you see the events I've described beginning to happen, you can know his return is very near, right at the door."

Maranatha!!!

I read things like this and I think: Do world leaders think they are above playing right into the hands of satan or something? Or do they have so much contempt for prophesy that they will say "oh! Nonsense, what we are doing is merely coincidence"?

"Safety" or "security" have been the buzzwords for a long time now, and the word "peace" has been certainly bandied around. Now all we need is for these words to be combined

Up until 2001 "safety" was the excuse for governments making ridiculous rules and demanding money from people all the time, then came "9.11" and all of a sudden the word was "security". The difference being that people were getting tired of hearing "safety" all the time and it was becoming a bit of a joke, but people have generally swallowed the "security" excuse "hook, line and sinker". This is so artificial and obviously an "excuse" and I find it incredible why people cannot seem to see this.

Hello Ellen and thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment on my site.

I wanted to reply to your comment. You said that Jesus said in John 10 that there shall be one flock. Absolutely He did in John 10:16! However, I gather from the link you left that you have confused the meaning of what Jesus meant. First of all, when reading scripture, in order to understand the meaning you need to read the entire context surrounding the verse. You have taken just a part of the verse. The entire verse says this:

Jhn 10:16 "I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear My voice; and they will become one flock {with} one shepherd.

If you read the entire chapter of John 10, you can get a better understanding of what the verse means. Jesus is talking to the Jewish religious leaders of that day. He is telling them that, (paraphrasing, so please read the chapter to check what I am saying), anyone that comes among the sheep by any other way besides through the door, is a robber and a thief. He tells us in verse 7 and again in verse 9, that when He says door, He is referring to Himself. He says that to come among the sheep (His people), you have to enter through Him (Jesus). If anyone tries to come among His people through some other way besides Jesus, that person is a robber and thief. He said that His sheep (His people) know His voice and follow Him. He said that if anyone comes through Him, that person will be saved. He says that when others try to come to His people in another way besides through Him, His sheep do not listen to that voice. In other words, if anyone tries to lure a true follower of Christ to some other religion or philosophy, His people will not listen to that voice, because they only respond to His voice.

He also said that He is the Shepherd (in verses 11 and 14), that lays down His life for His sheep. That is what He did when He died for us on the cross. He paid the penalty that we really deserve for all of our sins, but He paid it so that we don't have to pay the penalty for our own sins.

So as for the verse you quoted, we can now understand the verse. He says that He has other sheep that are not of this fold. Remember that He is talking to the Jewish people. The "other" sheep are the Gentiles (nonJews). Jesus came first for the Jew and then for the Gentile, we know from Romans 1:16. He says that He must bring the Gentile also and we will be one flock with one Shepherd - Jesus!!!! So the "one flock" He is referring to is the Jews and Gentiles, together in one body- the church. Remember, after Jesus' death and Resurrection, there were only Jews as followers. His Disciples were Jews and they first preached to the Jews. Then later they began to preach to the Gentiles and the Gentiles also became part of the Church.

But the most important part to note is that He said that we will have only one Shepherd, Him. SO that goes against the philosophy of the Oneness church, whose website link you left. THis church embraces all religions through something called "Mukthi Deeksha". In this one world religion you must accept this Deeksha. But Jesus said that He is the only door and to be saved, you must enter only through Him. He says in Jhn 14:6 - Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

ALso, it is written in Acts 14:12 speaking of Jesus-
"And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."

So we know that salvation cannot be found in any other name under heaven.

I know that this was long but I hope it brings clarity to the meaning of the verse for you. Please feel free to ask any other questions if you have any and thanks again for reading and reponding to my blog. In Love, Kim
